Realizzata su committenza ducale l’opera resta nelle collezioni ducali e giunge a Firenze nel 1631. Danneggiata da un incendio nel 1762 viene restaurata nel 2003. La scena offre una visione domestica sullo sfondo del Palazzo Ducale in cui la sacralità dell’evento si fa intima accanto alla gatta che allatta i cuccioli.

Commissioned by the Duke, the work remained in the ducal collections and arrived in Florence in 1631. Damaged by fire in 1762, it was restored in 2003. The scene offers a domestic vision against the backdrop of the Ducal Palace in which the sacredness of the event becomes intimate next to the cat suckling her kittens.
