In sintonia con lo stile abbreviato del secondo Autoritratto degli Uffizi, il restauro per la mostra ha connotato l’opera come capolavoro di immediatezza e comunicativa, raggiunte con pennellate velocissime. Una carriera religiosa importante, quella del francescano caro all’artista ed anche al Duca.

In keeping with the shortened style of the “Self-portrait at old age” from the Uffizi, the restoration for the exhibition has characterised the work as a masterpiece of immediacy and communication, achieved with rapid brushstrokes. A Franciscan who had an important religious career and who was close to the artist as well as to the Duke.
